Brought up in Chester, Dylan studied Optometry at City University in London. After gaining his degree, he completed the pre-registration year in practice at Price Wynne Opticians on the Wirral. He continued to work there and during that time gathered ideas as to how he wished for an optometric practice to run and progress.
In 1997 he left, to set up The Eyeworks and fulfil an ambition of working for himself.
He has been qualified in Diabetic Screening since the late 90's and attained a City and Guilds in Diabetic Screening in 2012.
Other specialized areas include Cataract assessment and referral, Glaucoma referral refinement, Low vision assessment and Wirral’s Red Eye scheme including the Flashes and Floaters investigation. Dylan also enjoys fitting and assessing all types of contact lenses.
Out of work, Dylan was a keen footballer playing and being involved with Chester Nomads, however the playing days now appear over as the legs won’t take it anymore! Now Dylan enjoys walking round golf courses !
David set out to pursue a career in optometry after having an eye examination as a thirteen year old which sparked his interest in optics.
He attended The City University, London, where he struck up a friendship with Dylan Barton. After gaining his degree in Optometry, David was awarded The British Contact Lens Association Da Vinci Award for best student contribution to contact lens research.
Although David has 25 years experience as an optometrist, he has continued to keep up to date and is accredited to provide Diabetic Screening, Low Vision Assessment, Glaucoma Referral Refinement, Cataract Assessment, Minor Eye Conditions Service and eye examinations for People with Learning Disability. He also enjoys fitting all types of contact lenses including multifocal lenses.
David is the current Chair of Wirral Local Optical Committee and has an interest in improving local eyecare provision. He also enjoys golf, loud music and reading.
Several years after completing a Psychology degree and working in the field of mental health, Emma returned to University in Manchester to study Optometry. After graduating in 2010, Emma completed her pre-registration year at Boots Opticians in Southport before taking resident posts in Wigan and Wirral.
Emma is excited about joining the team at The Eyeworks, with more scope on offer to develop clinically and utilize new technology. She appreciates being able to spend more time with each individual patient.
Originally from Harrow, Emma has lived in Merseyside for 15 years. Newly married, she enjoys cinema, theatre and spending time with family and friends in her spare time.
Dave started working in the industry in the London and surrounding area some 20 years ago before moving back to the Northwest in 1996.
He joined the Eyeworks in 2003 as practice manager, and using his experience gained in both the multiple and independent sectors, has helped to develop the practice team.
He is married with three children and enjoys golf, cricket and football in his spare time.
Alison started out in optics 23 years ago, originally working in the Southwest before moving up to the Wirral in 2004.
She completed the dispensing opticians course through the ABDO college in Kent , qualifying in 2007.
After gaining valuble experience /knowledge working in the multiple and independent sectors across the Northwest; Alison joined the Eyeworks in 2018 as Upton practice manager .
Alison is happily married, with two children, and enjoys doing activities with them, including walking their dog Mollie.
Zoe has been in Optics for more than eight years. She joined the Eyeworks in October 2008 after deciding to continue her career in the industry after having her son Jack.
Zoe's role within the company is that of Practice Manager.
Zoe lives with her partner and now has two children after recently having a daughter Lily. Zoe spends most of her time with her family taking them to various activities etc.
Having had more than 30 years in the retail sector Diane brought her vast experience and knowledge to the Eyeworks when she joined in 2009.
She feels her role in the company is to help make our patient’s journey as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Living locally in Bromborough, and has done for over 25 years, she is married, with two grown up children, and twin grand children. In her spare time enjoys gardening, keeping fit and tennis.
Mandy has always enjoyed working with the general public and joined The Eyeworks in May 2005. Since then her role has expanded and developed, from receptionist, to dispensing assistant through a mixture of internal and external training. Mandy is also a key member in the accounts department .
In her spare time Mandy enjoys socialising, travelling and keeping fit. A proud mum of one daughter who is a nurse.
Paula joined the Eyeworks in 2009 after a short period covering maternity leave as a receptionist at a local practice. She enjoyed the work and so shortly after joined the Eyeworks team. Previously Paula had worked for Littlewoods Pools and in the leisure industry, before supporting and doing the accounts for her husband’s family business.
In the practice Paula’s main duties include looking after reception and she is another key member of the accounts team.
Paula is married with three children and in her spare time enjoys keeping fit, gardening and socialising when not running round after the family !
Jo joined The Eyeworks as a part time receptionist in December 2017 following a period of maternity leave.
Jo arrived having previously worked in another local opticians for 4 years , but has worked in both the independent and multiple sectors since leaving university in 2001.
Jo particularly enjoys the customer service and variety of the role , especially meeting new people .
Outside of work , Jo is hapily married and has 2 sons and 5 cats . She is a keen campanologist and enjoys spending time with her family .
